Norwegian Cruise Line Update: December 29, 2020
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact communities around the globe, we have made the decision to further suspend voyages for Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Escape, and Norwegian Joy with embarkation dates through and including March 31, 2021. March sailings on all other vessels were previously suspended.
Norwegian Cruise Line
Update: December 2, 2020,
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has extended its global suspension through February 28, 2021, and in some cases through March 31, 2021. Today’s announcement, like the others since the CDC “lifted the no sail order,” references the framework for a safe return to cruising. As the industry celebrated a defined set of steps and sailing being an option soon, I believed that the announcement was a different way to accomplish the same thing: keep people from cruising in the short term.
The umbrella statement from NCLH (the parent company for multiple brands):
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. today announces an extension of its previously announced suspension of global cruise voyages as the Company continues to work through its return to service plan to meet the requirements of the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”). The suspension now includes all voyages on Norwegian Cruise Line embarking between January 1 through February 28 and select voyages in March 2021 and all voyages on Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises embarking between January 1 through March 31, 2021. The Company will continue to work in tandem with global government and public health authorities and its Healthy Sail Panel expert advisors to take all necessary measures to protect its guests, crew and the communities visited.
Despite this further delay, we remain optimistic and hope to relaunch cruise operations in the very near future. Given the fluid and evolving nature of the circumstances, we are making decisions as quickly and thoughtfully as possible, continuing to keep our guests’ and travel partners’ best interests at heart.

Additionally, each of the brands have released their own statements with specific information about what is impacted. Unfortunately, NCL is sticking with one of their policies which means guests who previously accepted the future cruise credit instead of a refund have to stick with the FCC’s and are not able to request a refund. This policy has even the most loyal customers feeling, to put it mildly, frustrated.

March sailings on Norwegian Dawn, Spirit, and Star were previously suspended. March sailings on Norwegian Encore, Escape, and Joy remain intact.
