Crystal Esprit Update: 1/21/21

Like our guests, we are eagerly anticipating the day we can return to sailing the world again and welcome our guests back aboard. Unfortunately, the continually changing variables related to Covid-19 – including differing border restrictions, potential quarantine policies for various nationalities, and limited international airlift – continue to determine when, and where, this can happen. The uncertainty surrounding this global health crisis hinders the ability for cruise lines to operate, and it is with deep regret that we have had to cancel all May 2021 yacht voyages aboard Crystal Esprit.

Crystal Cruises

• Guests who deposited/paid in full:
  • Credits equal to 115% of the cruise fare paid on fully-paid reservations or, for guests who have not fully paid, the Credits will be on the deposited amount.
  • If the booking was made with any Credit coupons (FCP, FCC, CASP and/or admin fees), those will be added back to the guest profile for future use.
  • FCCs will be valued at 15% of the cruise fare paid, minus any payment coupons. Credit coupons may be used separately or combined on any non-fully paid, future booking. Credits may be used with Crystal’s 2-for-1 Fares and Book Now Savings.
  • Credits are valid on any Crystal experience (Ocean, River, Yacht or Expedition) embarking from July 2021 through December 31, 2023.
  • Fully-paid reservations will receive a refund of port charges, taxes and fees paid, and any air and hotel packages booked through Crystal.
  • To request a refund, please visit www.crystalcruises.com/requestrefund to submit the online form no later than February 2, 2021.

• Those booked under the No Money Down promotion:
  • A $100 per guest “As You Wish” (AYW) shipboard credit valid on any Crystal Experience — Ocean, River, Yacht or Expedition — of 7 nights or longer from July 2021 through the end of 2022. Your AYW credit must be applied to another voyage by or on April 30, 2021. For each booking, the AYW per person shipboard credit applies to the 1^st and 2^nd  guest in each stateroom or suite only; it is not applicable to 3^rd berth guests. AYW credits are not redeemable for cash value and cannot be used toward cruise fare, in the casino or for medical treatments/medicines.

• Esprit April 4, Dubrovnik to Petra (Aqaba)
• Esprit April 10, Aqaba/Petra to Limassol
• Esprit April 18, Limassol to Athens
• Esprit April 25, Athens Round Trip

AYW credits are not redeemable for cash value and cannot be used toward cruise fare, in the casino or for medical treatments/medicines.

Update: 10/30/20

Crystal Cruises announced the cancelation of voyages on Crystal Esprit, one of it’s small, boutique luxury yachts, through March 14, 2021. In addition to the news regarding Crystal’s financial situation and other cancelations, this announcement doesn’t change my concern about its future.

The uncertainty surrounding this global health crisis hinders the ability for cruise lines to operate, and it is with deep regret that we have had to cancel all voyages aboard Crystal Esprit with departures through March 14, 2021.

  • Credits equal to 125% of the cruise fare paid on fully-paid reservations or, for guests who have not fully paid, the Credits will be on the deposited amount.
  • If booking was made with any Credit coupons (FCP, FCC, CASP and/or admin fees), those will be added back to the guest profile for future use.
  • FCCs will be valued at 25% of the cruise fare paid, minus any payment coupons.
  • Credits are valid on any Crystal experience (Ocean, River, Yacht, or Expedition) embarking through December 31, 2023.
  • Fully-paid reservations will receive a refund of port charges, taxes and fees paid, and any air and hotel packages booked through Crystal.
  • To request a refund, please visit www.crystalcruises.com/requestrefund to submit the online form no later than November 13, 2020.

Without sounding the panic alarm, at this point in time, I’m advising clients to take a refund on previously booked Crystal voyages if possible, and to book their luxury cruises with other cruise lines.
